One of the most critical periods for military service members is the reintegration period from active service to veteran status. The transitioned service members and their families are confronted with difficulties in finding meaningful employment that values their experience and offers stability in one of the most challenging periods they will face.
Our unique partnership with the Teamsters Military Assistance Program (TMAP), the Utility Workers Military Assistance Program (UMAP), U.S. Army Soldier for Life, and ABF Freight assists in eliminating major barriers in transition and aims to ultimately increase quality of life for veterans and their families. The TMAP/UMAP programs provide thousands of veterans and their families access to employment training and credentialing, as well as information regarding community resources. To date this program has provided training to almost 2,500 service members, veterans, and family members with an employment success rate of 98%.
This program assists transitioning service members into employment by introducing and/or enhancing the hiring and training programs on military installations throughout the country. In doing so, it provides members of the armed forces the opportunity to receive training at a convenient location (on base), prior to departing the military, with guaranteed employment upon leaving the service. This approach contributes to a pathway of better overall health and wellness, employment opportunities, and financial stability.
