2024 Support, Profitability, Growth
“Making the lives of veterans and their families
better in 2024.”
– Duncan S. Milne, Colonel, USMC (Ret.), President,
Dixon Center for Military and Veterans Services
Dixon Center for Military and Veterans Services priorities year after year have not changed:
- Support for our partners who with our ongoing assistance and capacity building integrate veterans and their families into their existing programs.
- Growth in our team, the numbers of partners we work with, as well as the number of veterans and military families impacted by our work with other organizations.
- Profitability, which includes a 12% increase in resources each year(exceeded in 2024).
We exceeded our 2024 expectations by focusing on our priorities. We did this by keeping our work focused on four key tasks. Specifically,
- Programs and Services – Serving as a national resource to support organizations, individuals, systems, movements, and communities in strengthening their capacity to integrate, serve, and support veterans and their families, in 2024 we were able to focus on three pillars, thirteen programs, and more than ninety projects.
- Awareness and Engagements – In 2024 we expanded our work providing leadership during local and national engagements and outreach, building public awareness; encouraging community involvement; and promoting community-based services.
- Resource Development – In 2024, with our development team, we experienced record growth in net-new funding from a diverse group of individual, corporate, foundations and major donors.
- Marketing and Communications – Our 2024 approach is working. We emphasized content marketing using our Podcast (Service Before Self), our eNewsletter (Bugler) distribution, social media campaigns and in 2025 we are leaning forward on our advocacy and public relations/multi-media.
Tomorrow is 2025, and we’re orientating on the new year by operating from a position of financial and programmatic strength. To learn more about our 2024 impact be on the lookout for our 2024 Annual Report which we will release on our website in January.
